Advisory Committee

An Advisory Committee representing neighborhood groups, residents and businesses, and interest groups, met to review the project 11 times between November of 2000 and October of 2002.


Alternatives Developed

A No Build alternative, four action alternatives, and a Preliminary Preferred Alternative have been developed and are being analyzed.

Alternative 1: No Build

Alternative 2

  • Two lanes on Russell
  • Roundabouts at the following Russell intersections: Mount Avenue/South14th Street, South Eleventh Street, South Fifth Street, South Third Street , and Wyoming Street
  • Signalization at Russell and Broadway Streets
  • Raised medians and left turn lanes would be used at locations which will be determined during the final design process

Alternative 3

  • Two lanes on Russell

  • Four lanes on Russell
  • Roundabouts at the following Russell intersections: South Fifth Street, and South Third Street
  • Signalization at all other major intersections
  • Raised medians and left turn lanes would be used at locations which will be determined during the final design process.
ALTERNATIVE A: No Build

  • Two lanes on South Third
  • Roundabouts at the following South Third intersections: Curtis/Schilling Street, Johnson Street, and Catlin Street
  • Signalization at South Third and Reserve Streets
