Environmental Planning
DOWL HKM recognizes the important role of environmental planning in successful project development and implementation. Successful projects are built on early consideration of the built and natural constraints in a given project area. Beyond an understanding of the constraints is our ability to identify strategies to address controversies that may arise and develop reasonable mitigation measures for unavoidable impacts. To ensure appropriate emphasis on this effort, our planners are involved early and continuously in the project development process.
DOWL HKM has completed numerous environmental investigations, environmental compliance documents, and permit applications for a variety of public projects. Our work ranges from small site investigations for hazardous materials to the completion of full Environmental Impact Statements for multi-million dollar projects.
Our planning staff includes professionals with graduate degrees in planning and public policy with an emphasis in environmental law and natural resource management. We provide complementary services with our analytical laboratory and geotechnical and water resources expertise. We also have long-standing relationships with local resource firms offering specialized services such as cultural and biological resource investigations.
