Public Involvement

DOWL HKM has extensive experience in the formulation and successful execution of meaningful and effective public involvement programs to support public decision-making. We have a proven track record in using innovative methods and techniques to capture and sustain public interest during the completion of our client’s major projects. Our philosophy and approach are based on the belief that active, informed involvement by the local community is a critical part in understanding the role that public investment plays in shaping our communities and providing real choices for the future.

Utilizing an approach developed by Hans Bleiker, DOWL HKM works to create a sense of ownership by all public participants through early and active engagement in the development of a given project. As part of a multi-faceted outreach program, DOWL HKM strives to engage the entire community as well as the various state and local departments and agencies to build consent as the project evolves.

DOWL HKM builds a sense of trust with the public by providing the following assurances:
